It seems as through celebrities quickly forget the cardinal rule about living life in the spotlight: if you take nude photos of yourself, they will ultimately get leaked. Portland Trailblazers center Greg Oden endured public embarrassment Tuesday when naked cell phone pictures of himself were leaked to the Internet. In a series of three self-taken photos that were reportedly sent to popular hip-hop Web site, WorldStarHipHop.
In sex tapes and nude photos of famous mistresses dominated the news—at least the news involving sex scandals. Infamous penises made their presence felt. The trend kicked off in late when news broke that Brett Favre sent creepy voicemails and pictures of his sidewinding penis to a sidelines reporter.
There, I said it. Not "thing" or "junk" or "stuff" or any other ridiculous euphemism we use to describe this particular area of the anatomy, as if it weren't part of the human body. None of this is exactly breaking news, but for some reason, a good chunk of the country has been behaving as if the nude photos of the oft-injured Portland Trail Blazer that surfaced recently are a stop-the-presses issue. It's been on every sports blog the Internet offers up as well as sports talk radio and television shows from coast to coast, including ESPN.
A friend told the year-old Tuesday morning that the pictures were making the rounds on the internet. Oden is out for this season after fracturing his left kneecap during a game against the Houston Rockets on Dec. He averaged

The man's face in the first photo clearly resembles Oden, but the two pictures that show genitalia are less clear cut -- the face is obscured by a cell phone.
In this day and age of instant publication and even faster dissemination of information people need to be extremely aware of their actions. Am I going to ride my moral high horse and wag my finger in disapproval? Hell no.
Oden, 22, said the images were sent as a lark more than a year ago to a female friend who apparently passed them on to a third-party. The Portland Oregonian said Wednesday the anonymous operator of the Web site claimed in an e-mail he was doing the world a "public service" by posting the images. He compared it to the coverage of Tiger Woods' marital troubles.
